LKY Saints Boys’ Basketball
The LKY Saints 2024 Boys’ Basketball Season is about to begin. Tryouts will be August 15 – 17, 2024, and games begin in early November!

Boys’ Teams
High School Teams
LKY will offer one varsity, one junior varsity, and one freshman boys’ basketball team for the 24-25 season for 9th-12th grade athletes.
TRYOUTS
Tryouts will take place on Friday, August 16 (3pm-5pm), and Saturday, August 17 (2:30pm-5pm), at Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Practices will typically be three times a week until games begin.
Games are played on week nights or Saturdays, but never on Wednesdays or Sundays.
Typically there are two or three games per week; when possible, both the boys and the girls JV/V teams will play back to back at the same location.
This team will travel to Gatlinburg for the end of season conference tournament.
Games begin the first week of November.
COST
The cost for the high school boys’ team is $495 per varsity athlete; $475 per JV athlete; and $400 per freshman athlete. This does not include any hotel costs for tournaments.
UNIFORMS
Game uniforms are provided by the team; each athlete must provide their own practice uniform (typically $50-75).
Middle School Teams
LKY will offer two middle school boys’ basketball teams for the 24-25 season for 7th and 8th grade athletes.
TRYOUTS
Tryouts will take place on Friday, August 16 (1:30pm-3pm), and Saturday, August 17
(12:30pm-2pm), at Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Elementary School Teams
For 3rd-6th grade boys, LKY will offer offer at least two elementary school boys’ basketball teams for the 24-25 season, with a maximum of four elementary school teams.
TRYOUTS
Tryouts will take place on Thursday, August 17th at Farmdale Baptist Church – 1238 Durrett Ln.
3rd/4th Grades: 4:00-5:15pm
5th/6th Grades: 5:15-6:30pm

Walter Collins
Program Director | Head Varsity Coach
Walter Collins serves as the Boys’ Basketball Program Director and the Boys’ Basketball Head Varsity Coach, and he assists with the boys’ freshman and JV basketball teams. Walter has loved basketball his whole life and has been coaching for six years now; God providentially connected him to LKY through meeting the Saints’ athletic director at a local park. Walter is passionate about using Biblical truth and basketball to teach discipline, work ethic, teamwork, and leadership. He and his wife Tabitha have been married for twenty years and have two sons, Braylyn and Austin.
