High School Teams
Incoming 9th-12th Grade
Friday 8/28 – 7:00pm-9:00pm – Cedar Creek Baptist Church
Saturday 8/29 – 9am-11am – Cedar Creek Baptist Church
Note – This is a two day tryout, both days required.
Middle School Teams
Incoming 7th-8th Grade
Thursday 8/27 – 5:30pm-7:00pm – West Broadway Baptist Church
Saturday 8/29 – 11am-1pm – Cedar Creek Baptist Church

Elementary School Teams
Incoming 3rd-6th Grade
3rd-4th Grade – Monday 8/24 – 5:30pm-7:00pm – West Broadway Baptist Church
5th-6th Grade – Friday 8/28 – 5:30pm-7:00pm – Cedar Creek Baptist Church
There is a $10 nonrefundable tryout fee for all athletes who intend to try out for LKY basketball. Tryouts are the week of August 24th.
2026 – 2027 Season Information
HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS
LKY will offer one varsity, one JV and one freshman boys basketball team for the 26/27 season for 9th through 12th grade athletes. 7th and
8th grade athletes are eligible to “dress up” and play on JV or varsity teams at the invitation of the coaches. Coaches will determine if we play 14u, 16u or 18u teams in tournaments and teams may be realigned.
PRACTICES
Practices will typically be three times a week until games start and then move to once or twice a week pending our game schedule. Practices begin the first week of October. Typically HS girls will practice two week days and Saturday mornings.
GAMES
LKY will mostly compete against Louisville area schools and homeschool programs that are in our conference.
Games are on week nights or Saturdays, but never on Wednesdays or Sundays.

Typically there are two to three games per week. When possible, both boys and girls varsity and/or JV teams will play back to back games at the same location. There will be beginning and end of season out of town travel to play other homeschool basketball organizations. Games begin in early November and go through the end of February for JV. The varsity will attend
the national tournament, March 15-19, 2027 in Springfield, Missouri to conclude our season. The Program Director may choose to send a 14u or 16u team depending on the season.

COST
The cost for the varsity season will be $495 per athlete. The cost for the JV season will be $450 per athlete. The cost for the Freshman season will be $400 per athlete.
This includes all practices, games, game uniform, instruction, tournament fees, team equipment, administrative costs, insurance and organizational fees. This does not include individual practice jersey or any hotel costs for out of town tournaments.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAMS
LKY will offer two middle school teams for the 26/27 season for 7&8th grade athletes, with players divided by skill into a Gold (“A”) and Black (“B”) team.
5th and 6th grade athletes are eligible to “dress up” and play on these teams at the invitation of the coaches.

Any athletes playing on the high school team may be required to attend additional practices each week.

This includes all practices, games, game uniform, instruction, tournament fees, team equipment, administrative costs, insurance and organizational fees.

ELEMENTARY TEAMS
LKY will offer four elementary school boys basketball teams for the 26/27 season, typically divided by grade 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th, but sometimes younger athletes may be placed on an older team due to higher skill or game IQ.
Athletes are eligible to “dress up” and play on an older team at the invitation of the coaches. 5th/6th grade athletes may be eligible to “dress up” to middle school teams at the invitation of the coaches.

Practices will typically be twice a week until games start. Practices begin the last week of September or the first week of October. Athletes “playing up” on the middle school team may be required to attend additional practices each week.
GAMES
LKY will compete against other private schools in the Louisville area in a league hosted by Whitefield Academy.
This league offers six regular season games and an end of season tournament.
Games are on Saturday mornings, with the exception of one week night game during the season and an end of season tournament.

There will be an admission charge for families to attend all games. Games will be played on 10/24, 10/30-10/31, 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, and 12/5, plus a tournament. The tournament will be held 12/7 – 12/12 and consists of both weeknight and Saturday games.

The cost for the elementary school girls season will be $225 per athlete.

Jeremy Benge
Program Director | Head Varsity Coach
Jeremy Benge serves as the Boys’ Basketball Program Director and the Boys’ Basketball Head Varsity Coach. Jeremy has served with LKY since 2021 in a variety of coaching roles and this year will be his fourth year coaching high school boys. Jeremy loves preparing stats and leading a film session but is also passionate about connecting the game of basketball to the Christian life. He desires that every boy in the program would be growing in excellence, accountability, teamwork, and leadership. But it is also his great desire that LKY basketball players would do these things with a strong connection to I Corinthians 10:31 and doing all things (including basketball!) to the glory of God. He and his wife Michelle have been married for twenty two years and have five children – Maddox, Lilly, Addie, Ella, and Knox – all of whom play basketball with LKY.
